About the Show

In a not so distant land called Merrylandia, Mandrid the wizard attempted one of his spells to help Herman the Jester at the Jester Games.  Instead he sends everyone that was present in his room to modern day Kansas City, including the Evil Queen Negranya who was spying through the door.  Realizing what happened, the Evil Queen takes Mandrid’s book of spells and casts a spell of her own locking Herman and his friends in the castle house.

Bailey the show’s host comes by the house looking for signatures for a petition to save the tigers; and befriends the newly arrived guests from Merrylandia.

Absent-minded Mandrid discovers he has riddles written by his Artist/Scientist/Sculptor friend “Leo” that are filled with counter-spells.  Bailey helps by traveling all over Kansas City exploring venues, landmarks and interviewing the people who maintain these wonderful places; but, are often overlooked.

The Herman the Jester show teaches Kansas City kids about, art, music, and cultural diversity through language awareness, self-empowerment, and communication while they discover Kansas City’s landmarks, places, people and historic treasures.

Our first highlight of a Kansas City treasure is a tour to Hallmark’s Kaleidoscope, where Bailey helps uncover the clue to the riddle.

Herman is then visited by Kansas City’s own breakout children’s singer, songwriter and performer, Funky Mama! Herman and Mandrid perform in this inspiring musical segment with her while we watch a young boy think outside the box and designs a diffrent type of airplane for the airplane launching competition story,  set to the backbround of the Airline History Museum of Kansas City.

In the show Herman also explores the art term, tool or technique of the day in English,French, German and Spanish, all while the Fairy Princess translates the entire show in American Sign Language.

Kansas City children will be inspired to watch the show and visit the places we explore.  They will sing and dance to positive, upbeat music and uncover a world of language and culture like never before, but most of all they will laugh and have fun just watching.
